After a 10+ year pause on Japanese steakhouses, we had a large party here for my son’s birthday. He and his friends really enjoyed the dinner. My husband and I sat at the sushi bar and ate some rolls and edamame. The atmosphere was dark and a light smoke hung in the air. This might be unavoidable with the fire and steam as part of the show, but it did bother me. They do have large fans over the cooking areas. It was very crowded also, but on a Saturday night this is probably to be expected. The hibachi diners reported the food was excellent. We didn’t realize they were going to mix the food orders and give everyone some of each others orders. My son is significantly allergic to shrimp and began coughing and sneezing and his throat tightened as soon as he started eating. He ordered steak but some shrimp was put on his plate. He didn’t eat it, but shrimp must have touched his food somehow. It would be best if the waiter asked about food allergies at the time of ordering and took careful precautions. It could be an extremely dangerous mistake to make.
This was the 5G Ladies night out on a Friday for our monthly Social time. We had a Fabulous meal, great conversation with other people at the table, and exciting table entertainment by the chef. The servers were pleasant and prompt.
We decided to do a late birthday celebration for my mom. We were seated promptly. The staff did the best they could to accommodate us,since they seemed to only have 2 or 3 chefs. The food was a good portion except for the veggies which our family of 5 would have just had that and rice ! For the money??? Moms time spent priceless!!!
Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the staff. They were very pleasant. The atmosphere was typical of a Japanese restaurant. We made reservations for 7pm, and I must say, we were seated on time. Immediately, our server (very kind) came to the table/grill and took our drink orders. We didn't wait long to receive those. Upon her return, she took our orders. We started eating the soup (tasty) and salad brought to us, which we finished, but they forgot to bring out our appetizer. We didn't have to mention the appetizer to the server, but it was eventually brought out to us. We didn't have to ask for refills on the drinks as our server was attentive and monitored the table well. As we finished that, the chef pulled up to the table to confirm and cook our food order. He was very nice and had a great sense of humor. Now, the food wasn't what I've grown accustomed to when it comes to Japanese restaurants up North, such as this one, but it was good enough for me to feel I'd come back there again. Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely!!!
